The DSC1001BI2-030.0000 oscillator is based on the principles of negative resistance and phase-shift feedback. Basically, a resistance is selected to make the oscillations start and three ‘colpitts’ inductance capacitance and resistance are similarly adjusted to make it occilate continuosly. This is done with the help of an oscillator capacitor, an oscillator resistor, a feedback resistor, a feedback capacitor, and a tuning capacitor.

The operation begins with a DC voltage bias applied to oscillator. This voltage is then converted into a periodic signal having a frequency of oscillation which is controlled by the values of the components used in tuning the oscillator. This periodic occurrence of electricity is converted into an AC signal and routed to the amplifier. The amplified electrical signal is fed back to the oscillator input through the feedback circuitry. This action acts as an automatic control mechanism, as it forces the oscillator to generate the same frequency of oscillation before any small variations can occur.

The oscillator capacitor stores and releases energy, as charge and discharge works which moves in a sinusoidal waveform. The oscillator resistor affects the speed of the frequency. The feedback resistor produces the voltage which allows the circuit to oscillate. Finally, the feedback capacitor prevents the frequency from changing excessively, as the input voltage changes by providing the excess voltage as a feedback to the oscillator.
