The DSC1101CI1-125.0000 Oscillator is a miniaturized, surface-mount low–cost oscillator with a 125.0000MHz frequency output. It uses a CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) integrated circuit with low jitter and excellent stability over temperature. The components are extremely small in size and are ideal for automated placement machines. The device has a typical jitter of 12ps and features an enable/disable function for power saving attributes. This type of oscillator operates by charging and discharging, or resonating, between two separate components. This process is then regenerated, resulting in a continuous output. A tuned circuit is used to fine-tune the frequency of oscillation. This is done by changing the capacitance of the oscillator circuit. This type of tuning is known as LC (Inductance and Capacitance) modulation, and is used to ensure that the output frequency is always accurate.The output of this oscillator is a 125.0000MHz sinusoidal waveform, with an amplitude of 1.8Vpp, and a 45° phase shift. The rise and fall time of the waveform is typically 200ns. The device is housed in a 6-pad 8-pin Surface Mount package measuring 7mm x 5mm x 1.6mm.
