Application Field

Working Principle

The BI2 utilizes a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) chip made from piezoelectric quartz or AT-cut crystals for precise and stable frequency generation. The quartz crystal is housed in a metal-ceramic package consisting of Gold lead wires that are soldered to the pad circuit. This package is then filled with a temperature-controlled gas which is then sealed in the package in order to protect the crystal from physical and environmental damage. The BI2 oscillator operates in a temperature range of -30°C to +85°C. When temperatures change, the crystal naturally changes its resonant frequency. To ensure accuracy, the BI2 utilizes an automatic temperature compensation (ATC) management system to keep the crystal oscillation accurate. This system works by comparing the output frequency to a reference frequency and then adjusts the crystal’s oscillator circuit until the frequency is within a specified tolerance.
