The DSC8002BI2 Programmable Oscillator is a highly versatile, programmable oscillator. It is designed for applications that require an exceptionally stable, accurate, and low-cost clock oscillator. The DSC8002BI2 provides an output frequency range of 300 to 1.2MHz. This versatile oscillator offers several programming options, thus allowing its frequency to be tuned to the exact application requirements.
The working principle of the DSC8002BI2 is based on an innovative architecture of the Frequency Lock Loop (FLL) technology, which enables the oscillator to generate an output frequency that is proportional to an external reference frequency. Thus, the frequency stability of the DSC8002BI2 is determined by the accuracy and performance of the external reference clock. This reference clock could be either a quartz-based crystal oscillator or a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). The FLL architecture ensures very low jitter, high accuracy, and superior frequency stability.
The DSC8002BI2 can be programmed via an interface such as UART, SPI and I2C, allowing the device to be easily integrated into system designs. The programming interface enables a user to configure the output frequency, enable or disable the output and test the output frequency, among other features. The device is also capable of programming “presets” – or multiple output frequencies – which can be accessed with a single command. All programming components are included in the device, making integration with external chipsets very easy.
The DSC8002BI2 Programmable Oscillator is designed for use in a wide range of applications such as communication systems, industrial controllers, distributed processing networks and time and frequency receivers. The device can provide a highly accurate clock signal to dozens of components in a single system, eliminating the need for additional, expensive clock generators and optimizing the overall performance of the system. The device is also suitable for product test and production, wherein the same accuracy and stability that is required in the operating environment can be verified in the test environment.
