DT15-12PA Application Field and Working Principle

DT15-12PA is a type of rectangular connectors related to headers, male pins, and is widely used in a wide range of applications. The DT15-12PA rectangular connector offers good environmental performance with a high temperature range of – 40°C to + 125°C, excellent insulation resistance, and outstanding moisture performance for board-to-board and cable-to-board connections.

In terms of size, the DT15-12PA is designed with a 4mm pitch, mounting height of 1.6mm, and 12 positions that are useful for disconnectable and removable connections. The 12 positions also provide robust contact & strain relief, which make it suitable for use in harsh environments. Additionally, the device is available in various options, including “up/down”, “side-by-side”, and “rear” configurations to provide multiple connection points for board-to-board and cable-to-board connections.

The DT15-12PA also provides power and signal signals, as well as integral power and signal mounting for equipment used in automation, Drive & Motion, Medical, and Aerospace & Defense industries. The device is rated to 1A/contact for a maximum pin current of 3A with 2A short-circuit and 2,5A over-load protection. During the mating process, the male pin is inserted into the female receptacle and pushed in until it locks into place.
