E511 Application Field and Working Principle
The E511 is a 2-wire Serial Digital Output MEMS Microphone with DSP that provides a high level of integration and performance. Integrated into a small form factor, it incorporates a MEMS capacitive microphone element, an analog signal-conditioning module, a digital filter, and an output amplifier. The device offers a wide dynamic range and low distortion, making it suitable for numerous acoustic applications such as consumer electronics, telecommunication, home entertainment, industrial monitoring, medical diagnostics, and military applications.The E511 is based upon a monolithic MEMS capacitive transducer. A MEMS transducer is a miniature device that uses tiny electro-mechanical resonant components to generate an electrical signal in response to an acoustic signal. By combining mechanical and electrical components on the same substrate, small distortion-free pressure transducers can be created. The E511 uses a series of MEMS transducers that operate at different frequencies, thus allowing it to measure a range of sound levels.The E511 employs digital processing to produce the highest acoustic performance possible. Incoming sound is converted to an electrical signal by the MEMS transducers. This signal is then amplified and filtered before being sent to the digital signal processor (DSP). The DSP then performs various signal processing steps, including linearization, equalization, and digital-to-analog conversion. The output of the DSP is then transmitted via a 2-wire serial interface. The E511 is capable of sampling up to 48 kHz and provides an SNR of up to 65 dB.The E511 is a versatile device which can be used in a variety of acoustic applications. Its integrated MEMS transducer elements make it ideal for use in consumer electronics, alarm systems, telecommunication, industrial monitoring, medical diagnostics, and military applications. Additionally, its low power consumption and compact size make it suitable for battery powered applications.
