The E52-IC50C-N D=12 temperature sensor is an industrial grade digital thermocouple designed for performing high-accuracy temperature measurements. This device is specially designed for the extended temperature range of up to -269 °C/ -452°F. It is composed of two dissimilar metals which produce a small voltage at their joint when heated and can be used to measure the temperature of an object or environment.

The E52-IC50C-N D=12 thermocouple operates according to the principle of the SeebeckEffect. In this effect, a voltage is generated at two ends of a mixed conductor when there is a temperature difference between them. A thin wire-like metal or metal alloy is heated to form the two-conductor junction and when the junction is heated, the thermal energy of the junction causes electrons to move from the high-energy side to the low-energy side of the junction, resulting in a voltage. As the temperature of the junction changes, the voltage produced changes accordingly. The voltage generated is proportional to the temperature difference between the two ends of the conductor.

The E52-IC50C-N D=12 thermocouple is widely used in the temperature sensing applications in various industries. It can be used in applications such as manufacturing processes, pharmaceuticals, air conditioning, chemical processing, laser welding, petrochemical and food processing.
