The EA513US is a comprehensive evaluation board for DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS (switched mode power supplies). Developed by e2v Technologies, the EA513US helps evaluate a variety of DC/DC and AC/DC converters used in off-line switching regulator designs. The board can be used for both PFC pre-regulator buck, and flyback topologies.
The EA513US features a step-up circuit that allows the user to increase their input voltage from 5V to 24V quickly and easily. The board also incorporates a feedback loop and provides protection circuits to protect the converter’s input voltage. In addition, the board offers two source and two load ports, allowing the user to easily create their own test cases and simulate different operating conditions. Furthermore, the board can be used in both synchronous and converter applications.
In terms of its working principle, the EA513US is designed to control the switching and commutation of the DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. The board uses a pre-regulated voltage as the reference voltage, which is then converted to a switching voltage. The switching voltage is generated by pulses controlled by an oscillator. The oscillator, in turn, is controlled by an IC which provides the appropriate voltage levels to enable the switching process.
