The ECSR10 is a type of specialty fuse designed to protect electrical circuits from damage caused by overloads or shorts. This fuse is UL Recognized, and operates at 10 amps or less. When an overload or short-circuit occurs, the electric current flowing through the circuit will surge and create a lot of heat. The ECSR10 fuse detects this heat and instantly blows itself, triggering an interlock device that shuts off the power to the circuit. This safety measure protects the circuit and other connected equipment from irreversible damage that could be caused by prolonged heat build-up.The ECSR10 fuse is designed to fit into one of two different types of holders: the tooth profile type and the flat type. The tooth profile type holds the fuse onto the panel with a spring-action clip. The flat type, on the other hand, screws into the panel and makes electrical connections via two thin brass blades that make contact with the sides of the fuse.Once the ECSR10 fuse is securely in place, the current will flow through it and the Heating Element that is located inside of the zinc-plated steel. The Heating Element heats up very quickly, and when the current passing through it reaches a certain threshold, the Heating Element will begin to melt and create an electrical arch. At the same time, the Zinc-plated Steel is meant to contain the electrical arch until it is completely dispersed. Once the electrical arch is dispersed, the link between the Heating Element and the Zinc-plated Steel becomes broken, which triggers the interlock device that shuts off the power to the circuit. This eliminates any further current from passing through the ECSR10 fuse and thus eliminates any further damage from occurring.The ECSR10 fuse is also designed with a silver-plated contact clip which helps to ensure a good contact between the Heating Element and the circuit. Since the contact clip is made of silver, it is also able to more effectively dissipate heat and prevent it from building up and causing any further damage.Overall, the ECSR10 fuse is an ideal choice for circuit protection and will ensure that your equipment is protected from any harm caused by overloads or shorts.
