Terminal blocks also known as “Wire to Board” are the connectors that offer secured mechanical electrical linear connections commonly used in industrial and electronic equipment. ED790/4 is a two part terminal comprising of a base molded in grey and a cap molded in a variety of colors for added convenience in product identification. The colored caps are provided with one or two tabs so as to join other installed cable terminations. The two parts are held together by brass screws along with a provision of high strength washer, which helps to establish a reliable connection when the wires are tightly fitted in the solderless terminals.

ED790/4 features an operating temperature range from -10ºC to +85ºC. The contact termination options include multiple AWG and solderless terminals, which enable them to be used in various application fields and voltage ranges. The local contacts are also available in 0.75mm² AWG, 1mm² AWG, 1.5mm² AWG and 2.5mm² AWG2.

The working principle of ED790/4 is quite simple. The wire is fixed under the screw head, and then tightened to the contact body. The contact tip at the opposite side of the screw tightens the wire and secures it. In other words, ED790/4 uses the mechanical strength provided by the screw clamp to ensure a reliable electrical connection.
