EE-SX3340 Application Field and Working Principle
The EE-SX3340 is a Slot Type Logic Output Photointerrupter that is suitable for use in a wide variety of applications that require reliable sensing and disruption of light pulses. This type of Photointerrupter consists of an Optical Sensor, connected to two long slots that form the slot type portion of the interrupter. The Optical Sensor is able to detect the interruption of light and generate an electrical output signal. Working Principle of the EE-SX3340
The EE-SX3340 utilizes an Optically Isolated Output to detect the interruption of light through pulses or breaks between the two long slots. When light passes through the two slots, without interruption, the output signal will remain high. When the light is interrupted, the output signal will drop to a low level. This type of Optical Sensor is capable of detecting the interruption of light with a resolution of 60µs (0.06ms).
This Photointerrupter is also capable of detecting the presence of objects, such as a piece of paper, due to its high sensitivity. If an object passes through the two slots, the output signal will drop low, while when the object is removed, the output signal will go back to high.
