Working principle:
The EE-SX670A photointerrupter utilizes an infrared light source and a matched photo-transistor detector pair. When an object passes through the space between these two components a beam of light is broken, triggering the photo-transistor to conduct. This prompts a normally open logic gate, forcing it to close. When the beam of light is restored, the logic gate return to its normally open state.
In addition, each EE-SX670A features an optional adjustable sensitivity and response time to match different requirements. This is done by simply adjusting the size of the light-receptor’s aperture. The distance between the light source and the light detector can also be adjusted with a simple centering mechanism.
The EE-SX670A is a robust opto-electronic device, designed to detect the position of objects with a long sensing distance, high-integrity detection, and simple installation. It can be used in a wide variety of industrial applications that require open/closed switching and/or object position sensing.
