A single diode rectifier is a building block of modern technology. It is an electronic component used in a variety of applications, primarily because of its simple construction and operation. A typical forward voltage drop of the diode may range from approximately 0.7 to 1.5 volts. A reverse blocking voltage of around 200 volts is typical, with maximum reverse blocking voltage in the order of 350 volts.

The single diode rectifier is highly-suitable for applications such as switching circuits, full-wave rectifiers, high frequency bridge rectifiers, power supply, voltage regulation and voltage multipliers. Its simple construction makes it a cost-effective solution for a wide range of electrical and electronic applications.
