The EL816 optoisolators have a LED input circuit which includes a gallium arsenide infrared LED with a dedicated phototransistor output. The LED input circuit responses to input signals such as logic signals, low frequency or high frequency analog signals depending on the application type. The isolated output signal from the phototransistor is provided with a totem pole circuit to ensure that the collector output to the base input maintains a logic high or low logic condition. The device has a dual transistor output circuit which provides a common collector output for logic high and a common emitter output for logic low. The output stage is designed to provide 500 mA DC of current which can drive direct connected TTL loads.
These optoisolators are designed to function reliably in harsh environmental conditions. They are highly resistant to shock, vibration and other environmental influences making them an ideal choice for industrial applications.
