Working Principle

EM5555-IRT transceiver combines SAW and technology to tailor the RF front-end filtering circuit. It includes a BroadR-Reach® digital baseband and an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to handle all bit-level data processing. The transceiver also provides a fast wake-up and sleep features to further reduce its already low power consumption. In addition, its digitally-controlled slew rate helps to reduce the peak power and reduce the EMI emissions.

When in Rx mode, EM5555-IRT’s low-noise amplifier (LNA) amplifies the incoming radio signal, then the SAW filter shapes the signal before it is downsampled by the high-speed ADC. In TX mode, the baseband block, which is responsible for bit-level data transcoding, first connects the packet to the proper modulation format before transmitting the signal through the integrated PA. Finally, the built-in antenna switch routes the correct signals to the appropriate radio chain.
