EPC9080 is a high voltage IC designed to replace traditional, inefficient power transistors in modern high voltage applications, such as power converters, motor control, high-voltage power electronics and smart grid. This IC is part of the newest family of wide bandgap semiconductors, allowing for increased performance and more efficient use of energy.

The primary working principle behind the EPC9080 is the process of HVFET-assisted Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS). This process is initiated when a trigger input is received. The output voltage is then increased to a higher voltage level, then decreased back to zero in order to turn the transistor off. This results in an improved utilization of power, as the transistor is able to be turned off much more quickly than is possible with traditional methods.
