Every complex programmable logic device(CPLD) is comprised of two architectural components: in-system programmable logic array (PLA) and switch matrix, combined together to form the CPLD Core.EPM7128STC100-10N CPLD core is composed of two cells with overlapping configuration logic regions. In addition, the device includes sum-of-products logic and I/O cell look-up tables (LUTs), in which the logic operations and state setting of the devices are determined by the users’ design software. The device is configured with a one-time programmable (OTP) memory array and a volatile EPROM for reconfiguration. During operation, both memory arrays are configured with user-defined logic functions.
In order to use EPM7128STC100-10N in a design, the user has to provide the logic that defines the functionality of the device. Generally, the logic design is created using design software, such as Altera’s Quartus II.
