EMI/RFI filters are critical components for most electric/electronic systems. They act as a barrier between electronic systems and the environment, blocking out electrical interference and reducing the system\'s vulnerability to interference. The EZA-DT21AAAJ is an EMI/RFI filter designed for use in applications such as telecommunications, medical, industrial and consumer electronics. The EZA-DT21AAAJfilter is a multi-stage low pass, high passand band reject filter. It is composed of two low pass inductor/capacitor (LC) networks, three high pass LC networks and one high pass resistor/capacitor (RC) network. The concept for this type of design is that the inductors pass low frequencies while blocking higher frequencies, and the capacitors pass higher frequencies while blocking the lower frequencies. The inductors and capacitors are placed in such a way that the filter is able to pass the desired frequencies while rejecting unwanted frequencies.
The two low pass LC networks and the one high pass RC network all contain a capacitor to ground for additional filtering. The capacitor acts as a shield to protect the signal from interference from outside sources. The high pass LC networks all contain inductors that are connected in series with a capacitor between them. This allows the inductors to block lower frequencies while the capacitors pass higher frequencies, thus forming the high pass filter.
The EZA-DT21AAAJ is designed to be used in situations where interference must be rejected. It has very tight tolerances and excellent shielding capabilities, and can be used in applications where rigorous EMI and RFI compliance standards must be met. In addition, the filter has very low insertion loss, meaning that it will not significantly interfere with the signal path or reduce the signal strength.
The EZA-DT21AAAJ filter is designed to pass a signal in the frequency range of 600 to 2100 MHz while rejecting higher and lower frequencies.
