Working Principle

The F2950NEGK utilizes Fairview\'s Advanced PIN Diode Technology for maximum efficiency and lowest insertion loss. The F2950NEGK contains one input port (IN) and two output ports (OUT A and OUT B). The signal at IN is coupled to the input of a PIN diode switch network. By controlling the voltage applied to the control ports of the switch, it is possible to switch the signal from IN to either OUT A or OUT B. During the on-state, the signal is port-to-port routed with minimal losses, while during the off-state, the two output ports are isolated from each other. The switch also monitors the voltage of the control input to ensure proper operation and prevent any unexpected malfunction.

The F2950NEGK also provides protection against voltage surges and ESD. The ESD protection consists of separate ground and RF ground ports on the front side and the ground plate on seal side is tied to the internal ground shield in order to achieve the maximum level of protection. The input and output ports are protected by ESD clamp Diodes and isolation MOVs. Additionally, an integrated drive circuit is used to protect the switch from over-voltage, as the voltage always stays within the limits.
