Common Mode Chokes comprise two independent winding coils, usually made of ferromagnetic materials, which are wound around a common core. In this way, the magnetic fields of the two inductors are opposed, and as a result, the flux of the core form a single loop around the two inductors. This reduces the effect of external electromagnetic field, and the common mode choke is used to filter unwanted EMI signals or even to pass a desired signal along two channels.
