The FG4905 is a radome-enclosed high-gain omnidirectional antenna designed for use in the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) frequency bands where high performance is required. This antenna is designed for applications such as wireless Internet access, point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PTMP) links. It is also ideal for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth system applications.
The FG4905 is designed for use in commercial and private Wi-Fi networks, operating in either an omnidirectional or directional configuration. The antenna offers 14 dBi of gain, which is more than most commercially available antennas, providing better coverage and higher signal quality. The extremely low VSWR (maximum 1.20:1 over the entire impedance bandwidth) makes it ideal for achieving maximum radiated power and range. The antenna also features a 360-degree tower orientation for improved performance and signal coverage. With an operating temperature range from -40°C to +60°C, the antenna can be used in extreme weather conditions.
The working principle of the FG4905 is based on the Directivity Enhanced Radiant Surface (DER) or DRESS technology, which makes use of the waveguide principle. This technology is used to improve the pattern of the antenna so that it can operate with a greater directivity and is able to reach greater distances in comparison to other types of antennas. The DRESS technology works by using a series of alternating vertical and horizontal elements that create a vertical polarization pattern. This pattern gives the antenna an improved directivity which helps to focus the energy in a concentric pattern with the aim of decreasing the side-lobes so that the desired distance can be achieved. By optimizing the elements to their ideal positions, the antenna can be designed to cover a larger area with fewer side-lobes and reduced back-lobes. Additionally, the DRESS technology enables the antenna to reach enough gain, however, within a 50% bandwidth.
The FG4905 is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Its lightweight and compact size make it easy to install and operate in any application.
