Working Principle

The FK2540-9R implements a fixed frequency PWM (Pulse-width modulation) control mode. The PWM is generated using a voltage signal across its pin VP, a relationship between VP and the output voltage is established during normal operation. Whenever the output current exceeds the current limit, the GATE pin is shut off and the output current is protected.

The FK2540-9R also incorporates an over-voltage protection and a reverse-polarity protection, the over-voltage feature is activated whenever the output voltage reaches a certain value, while the reverse-polarity protection will protect the device from reversed input connections.
