The FMPC7 is a multi-axis position, proximity and speed sensing module developed by Comus International. It incorporates multiple Hall Effect sensors and an ASIC to provide high accuracy position measurements of linear or rotary objects. The FMPC7 can be used in a wide variety of applications such as motors, actuators, sensors, and wheels for industrial automation, robotics and autonomous vehicles.The FMPC7 module consists of a set of 4 Hall Effect sensors which are arranged in a quadrant design. The module is configured to measure the angular position of a ferromagnetic target which is positioned in a circular path around the sensors. The module features a low power consumption and it is designed to work in harsh industrial environments.The FMPC7 module is designed to operate under two main operating modes: single-axis position sensing and multi-axis speed measurement. In single-axis position sensing mode, the module produces a sine wave signal proportional to the angular position of the target. The module is configured to measure the position of the target up to 690 degrees and the resolution of the position readings is 0.24 degrees. The quartz oscillator ensures a high accuracy of the angular measurements.In multi-axis speed measurement mode, the module produces a sixteen-bit digital signal that provides a reading of the speed of the target. The module is configured to measure the speed of the target in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions. The maximum speed that can be measured is 4000rpm and the accuracy of the speed reading is 0.36%. The module also has a number of configurable parameters such as the filter coefficient, hysteresis and temperature effect compensation.The FMPC7 module can operate from a wide input supply voltage range of 4.75 to 26V DC. The module is provided with an external signal conditioning circuitry including a power supply and signal interface. This allows the module to be integrated with a variety of host systems such as PLCs, PCs, and MCUs. The module is also compatible with both single-ended and differential input signals.Overall, the FMPC7 is an advanced multi-axis position, proximity and speed sensing module, providing highly accurate position measurements of linear and rotary objects. The module is designed to work in harsh industrial environments and it is provided with an external signal conditioning circuitry which enables easy integration with various host systems.
