FMW-2206 is an array of diodes hand-crafted for multiple uses and available for various products. This rectifier array consists of four discrete diodes integrated into a single package.

The FMW-2206 is a specialized device and basically a rectifier array which contains four diodes that are connected together internally and provides higher current-handling capability than what would be available if using four individual diodes.

The package of FMW-2206 is used with a circuit requiring diodes, such as full-wave rectification whereby a pair of diodes rectify the AC input, which then becomes DC output. This type of diode array is used in many automotive and consumer applications, such as battery charging, electroplating, ac-dc power supply, and other digital circuits.

The FMW-2206 is a Diode Rectifier Array, designed and manufactured to provide four full-wave rectification in one package as well as eliminating the need for multiple discrete diodes. This type of diode array provides current-handling capability that is superior to that of discretely-assembled rectified diodes.

The FMW-2206 rectifier array consists of four diodes connected in two pairs, the two legs of each pair in the opposite direction. This type of diode array is used for reverse-bias protection and transformer isolation applications. The FMW-2206 uses a forward-biased diode so that current can flow in only one direction. The PN junction is forward-biased when the applied voltage is positive with respect to the cathode.

For a conventional rectifier, the four diodes are connected in series, and the output of the rectifier is the sum of the forward voltages of the four diodes. In the case of the FMW-2206, however, the four diodes are connected in a parallel configuration, which gives a higher current-handling capability than with a standard rectifier.

The circuit diagram of a typical FMW-2206 looks like this:

Output of FMW-2206

In the circuit diagram given above, the input voltage is applied to the anode of the first diode, which then sends current to the anode of the second diode. The output of the second diode is then connected to the anode of the third diode, and so on. The fourth diode is connected to the output of the circuit, and the output of this circuit is the sum of the forward voltages of the four diodes.

The FMW-2206 can be also used for reverse-bias protection applications. In this case, the anode and cathode of the first two diodes are connected together in such a way that the input voltage applied across them is reversed biased, thus preventing any current from flowing. The remaining two diodes are then connected in series with the reversed-biased diode pair allowing current to flow when the input voltage is less than the turn-on voltage of the two series diodes.

In addition to its many applications, one of the advantages of using a diode array like the FMW-2206 is that it can provide a higher current-pulsed output than diodes connected in regular forward-bias circuit. This type of diode array can be used in various applications such as switching power supplies, motor control units, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems.

The FMW-2206 is an ideal choice for ac-dc rectification applications and a cost-effective alternative to discrete rectifiers. This diode array provides a greater degree of reliability, better surge-handling capabilities and greater current-handling capabilities than individual discrete rectifiers, helping you reduce component size, component count and overall cost.
