FN4100002 oscillator is a miniature high-frequency SAW oscillator with typical frequency range of 14~200MHz. It applies a unique circuit technology to implement single frequency, multi-frequency, PLL and Fractional-N frequency synthesizers’ applications. It is produced from miniature thin-film SAW components, packaged in DIP package that fits a wide range of applications.
The FN4100002 oscillator’s working principle is based on surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology. In the SAW resonator, a piezoelectric material with interdigital electrodes is employed as the transducer that gives rise to surface acoustic waves on the surface of the crystal resonator. The electrostatic force generated by a capacitive frequency control element will affect the frequency of the oscillator.
FN4100002 oscillator consists of a piezoelectric quartz crystal resonator that is coated with interdigital electrodes, a high-Q thin film capacitor, a temperature compensation circuit, a buffer stage, and an amplifier even frequency. The quartz crystal resonator is driven by the amplifier and provides the oscillation frequency. The frequency control element of this oscillator is a multilayer thin film capacitor, in addition, temperature compensation circuit improves the drifting performance. The buffer stage decouples the frequency change of the oscillator, while the amplifier further boosts the power of the signal.
