RF Directional Couplers are devices used to couple power signals from one circuit to another without triggering any undesired electrical interaction. FPC06700 is a broadband bi-directional RF Directional Coupler. It’s designed to couple signals from two ends of a coaxial line with minimal insertion or return loss. The FPC06700 uses the principal of reactive coupling to create the desired outcome from a directional coupler. The working principle of the FPC06700 is based on a two-port principle where RF signals from one port are coupled to the other port without any direct connection. This is achieved by reactance coupling. The reactance denotes the opposition of a conductor to the flow of current resulting from a change in the potential difference between the two terminals without discontinuing the current. The reactance of the two ports are matched at relatively high frequencies for the purpose of bi-directional operation. The coupling effectively couples the flow of power between the two terminals while providing a significant amount of isolations from other sources of interference or signals both external and internal.
