RF directional couplers have been widely used in radio communication systems. They are typically used to sample the power of an RF signal flowing in one direction in order to determine its magnitude without affecting the signal travelling in the opposite direction. FPC07180 Working Principle
The FPC07180 directional coupler utilizes an active-balun coupler-with capacitively coupled output. It works by splitting the incoming signal, which typically consists of two parts, or modes. The first is a signal travelling in the same direction as the incoming signal, known as the forward path. The second is a signal travelling in the opposite direction, known as the reverse path. The two signals are split into two independent paths and the forward- and reverse-signal components are combined again at the output port.
