Working Principle
The FPF2001 is an integrated power distribution switch and load driver with two input pins – VDD1 and VDD2. These pins receive signals from the power supply and based on a ratio, select one of the two inputs to route the power to the load. In addition, an adjustable threshold voltage pin – ADJTV – is provided to control the threshold voltage of the load. The integration of these pins allows the FPF2001 to provide efficient power distribution and load driving.
The FPF2001 is designed to provide full protection from short circuits, over-temperature, and over-load conditions. This is accomplished by the on-chip protection circuitry, which monitors voltage and temperature to ensure that the load is not over-driven. In addition, the on-chip protection circuitry is also able to detect short-circuit conditions and switch off the power MOSFET to prevent the load from receiving excessive current.
