FPMQUAD-W Application Field and Working Principle

The FPMQUAD-W is a quad-capacity keystone trunk cable faceplate utilized in Keystone QuickPort trading systems, and is particularly developed to connect both copper and fiber optic patch cables while avoiding unwanted interferences. This type of faceplate is suitable for applications in data center, enterprise, home and office buildings, as well as for every type of communication system.

The FPMQUAD-W is designed to simultaneously secure four keystones or adapters on a single plate, allowing each keystone to be disconnectable individually with minimum effort. This product has been constructed to ISO/IEC 11801 standards and UL 1863 fire ratings. It also includes separating tabs that prevent accidental simultaneous disconnection of two or more keystones.

The FPMQUAD-W is available in two different styles: Standard and Low Profile. The Low Profile model (2.2 inches in depth) offers identical specifications as the Standard version (3.3 inches in depth), with the added benefit of minimizing the depth of the device. Its design helps to economize the space, providing more sleek aesthetics and greater flexibility during the installation process. Either style is compatible with both Keystone\'s and Leviton\'s QuickPort housing products.

As far as the performance, the FPMQUAD-W offers a high-speed cabling solution suitable for 10/100/1000Base-T networks. The ports are backward compatible, allowing the user to maintain legacy connections up to Cat3. It has also been tested and approved for MUX/MDIX auto-switching, offering a plug-and-play setup. This device is engineered to use contacts made of phosphor bronze for superior electrical performance.

The FPMQUAD-W allows the integration of short or extended reach multimode and single mode fiber cables, permitting connections up to 10GBase-SR, 10GBase-LRM, and 10GBase-LR. In order to minimize network interference, it employs singular RJ45 port orientation, eliminating the likelihood of confusion during installation procedures or troubleshooting sessions.

The FPMQUAD-W also provides status indicators for each port. It features a blue power LED status light, a white LED status light, and two green LED status lights. The blue LED status light is meant to reflect the presence of power to the system, while the white LED illuminates its support of Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) implementations. The two green LED lights are used to denote a valid link state for each port.

Finally, the FPMQUAD-W is designed for easy installation and maintenance, providing users with an integrated keystone mounting plate that is removable to allow further homogenizing of bulk cabling. It is equipped with a user-friendly release mechanism that makes the extraction of cables simple, and its auto-adjustment design allows no more than 3 lbs. (1.3 kg) of downward pressure to detach its keystones.
