FSD200 is a high performance AC/DC conversion module providing single-stage power factor correction (PFC) and DC/DC conversion. It is targeted for light industrial, household appliance and telecom applications. With a wide input voltage range for single-phase input of 80V to 265V and dual-phase input of 160V to 265V, the FSD200 offers switching frequency up to 100kHz with a nominal output power up to 160W.

FSD200 contains a controlled-offline rectifier (COR) which is a key component of the AC/DC converter. In the COR, a bridge rectifier is connected to an auxiliary transformer connected between the input and output of the main switch. When the output voltage delivers enough power the forward short-circuit current in the auxiliary transformer is turned off and the output voltage can reach the required level. This method allows the COR to achieve high power density, low component count and low cost.

The PFC stage of the FSD200 works in a continuous conduction mode to provide a highly efficient power conversion. It is characterized by its high power factor, low harmonic distortion and low input current ripple. The PFC stage also enables the use of low EMI filters without compromising on the power conversion efficiency.

The DC/DC stage of the FSD200 uses a synchronous buck converter which provides an efficient power conversion from the PFC output voltage to the required secondary voltage. The DC/DC stage can deliver up to 3016W at a constant current output level of 0.36A. The FSD200 can be operated in one of three modes; mode 1 for low-noise power delivery, mode 2 for higher efficiency power delivery, and mode 3 for the highest efficiency power delivery.

The FSD200 has a flexible control interface which enables a wide range of operating modes and performance options. The user can enable different levels of protection, such as thermal shutdown, overvoltage protection and output current control.
