Solid state relays (SSRs) are a type of switch which use a semiconductor input instead of a switch to control a standard electromechanical relay of higher power capacity. SSRs are widely used to control electrical circuits, and are often utilized in situations wherein low control power is required. Compared to their electromechanical counterparts, SSRs offer superior functionality and performance.
