Temperature Sensors - NTC Thermistors
Thermistors, or thermally sensitive resistors, are solid state electronic components which exhibit a decrease in resistance when exposed to increasing temperature. This property is used to measure temperature with good accuracy and rapid response. A NTC thermistor is a thermally sensitive resistor that exhibits a decrease in resistance when exposed to increasing temperature, and resistance increases with a decrease in temperature. NTC thermistors are constructed from oxides of sintered metallic oxides, including manganese, nickel, cobalt, iron, aluminum and magnesium, to form NTC thermistors.
