During the negative half cycle of the AC voltage, the upper diodes D1 and D2 will be reverse biased, while D3 and D4 will be forward biased. Thus, now the current flows from B to A through D3, and from B to C through D4. In this way, a full-wave rectified voltage is obtained across the load.
The GBU8005-G rectifier utilizes four Schottky barrier diodes in a bridge configuration to provide an efficient rectification. The Schottky barrier diodes have the added advantage of very low speeds operating at higher frequencies. The device features temperature resistant solder connections, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 240°C.
