Working Principle
Quartz crystals have unique properties that make them perfectly suited to serve as a resonator in electronic circuits. The quartz crystal is a piezoelectric material, and when an external electric field is applied across it, the opposite sides of the crystal will be filled with positive and negative charges. This creates a vibration that is transmitted to the electrodes, because the electrons moving up and down in the crystal will alternately attract and repel the positive and negative charges.
