GPSSB800/2170FS RF Antennas Application Field and Working Principle

Working Principle

GPSSB800/2170FS RF antennas provide directional (point-to-point) communication so that the receiver will only pick up signals emitted by the transmitter. This is achieved by using a single-patch radiating element -- the patch surface is divided into a half-wave dipole which is connected to a balun (balanced and unbalanced line transformer). The patch feeds two sinusoidally-distributed quadrifilar helix antennas (QHAs) located side by side, and the two antennas are fixed at a perpendicular angle to each other, forming a homoeomorphism pattern.This antenna design gives the GPSSB800/2170FS antenna the ability to track slightly off-axis signals with minimal attenuation. The antenna can also work with vertical and horizontal polarizations, with low cross-polarization. The antenna is designed to operate in a frequency range from 810 MHz to 960 MHz and from 1710 MHz to 2170 MHz, with a gain up to 11dB, and it is designed for extreme weather conditions, as long as there is no significant snow.
