.GTLP18T612MEA is a universal bus logic function designed to support multiple applications and provide solutions to sample data storage, communication protocols and automation systems. It provides reliable, low power and high speed operation, with the capability to furnish a wide range of control and data flow requirements.GTLP18T612MEA are used extensively in the industrial, automotive, commercial and embedded device markets to meet the requirements of data storage and communication over various buses and protocols. It supports a number of technologies, including CANbus, LIN bus, RS-485, I2C and other proprietary protocols.The central features of the GTLP18T612MEA are its highly reliable and fast operation. It has the advantage of being able to provide accurate data capture and transmission in a matter of microseconds. Its low power operation and wide voltage range offer the ability to meet the most demanding applications from low level processors to higher end controllers and processors.The GTLP18T612MEA operates using bus arbitration, a technique which enables the bus master to access the bus and maintain bus communication while all other nodes are in a standby mode. Every node is assigned its own channel, and only the channel assigned to the node can access the bus. This allows for reliable data transfer, synchronization and arbitration. The device also offers a master selection mode, which allows the device to switch to the highest priority bus node.The GTLP18T612MEA also provides advanced error detection, parity and channel selection capabilities. The error detection feature ensures that corrupt data bits are detected and discarded, while the parity feature ensures the integrity of data transmitted over the bus. The channel selection feature enables the device to attach to any pre-defined master to maximize the speed and reliability of data transfer.In addition to these features, the GTLP18T612MEA also provides an advanced handshake protocol whereby the bus master transmits a single byte or sequence of bytes and awaits an acknowledgement from the slave. If a slave does not acknowledge the data within a specified time period, an error is returned and the bus master can attempt the message again. This protocol helps to keep communications asynchronous and deter erroneous data transmissions.The GTLP18T612MEA is designed to be an all-in-one solution for multiple buses and protocols.
