Optoisolators are integrated circuit devices that convert electrical signals into optical signals, and vice versa. The H11D3300W is a type of optoisolator that operates via transistor-photovoltaic output. The device features an opto-isolator core, consisting of an infrared LED, a phototransistor and a voltage transfer circuit, that has the ability to optically and electrically isolate two circuits. The H11D3300W is further enhanced by a thermal protection circuit which prevents the LED from overheating.

The H11D3300W is mainly used in electronic circuits to provide electrical signal protection from instruments, motors, current meters,and other peripherals. The device prevents high electrical voltages from damaging a circuits core components,and also protects the instrument or device itself from adverse effects from the peripheral.

The device works by converting an electrical input signal into an optical output. The LED is positioned in a darkened area and is equipped with a photodetector which emits light in response to the input signal. On the other side of the opto-isolator core, the phototransistor receives the light signal and converts it into an electrical output signal. This output signal can then drive another circuit, and because of the opto-isolator core, no dangerous levels of electric shock to personnel can occur.

The H11D3300W also features a built-in current limiter which prevents excessive current from damaging the components or shorting out the device. This helps ensure that the device runs in a stable and safe manner, and is useful in applications where high levels of current will be encountered. Additionally, the device has an open-collector output which allows it to interface directly with the external circuit.
