Optoisolators - Logic Output are electronic devices used to isolate high-voltage input signals from low-voltage output signals. H11N1SVM is an opto-isolator chip that provides superior isolation performance while maintaining low power consumption. It consists of an integrated circuit (IC) containing three basic components: a high-voltage optocoupler, an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), and a Schottky diode.

The high-voltage optocoupler translates optical input stimuli into electrical output signals. This optocoupler is placed between the input and output signals. Essentially, it serves as an information bridge between the two signals, ensuring that the output is electrically non-interfering and non-disruptive. Inside the optocoupler is an LED that is energized with power from the external power supply connected to the IC. The LED then sends out optical signals that are picked up by a sensor inside the IC, which in turn translates them to electrical signals.

The insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) is the heart of the H11N1SVM optoisolator. It functions to convert the electrical signal from the optocoupler into an output at a lower voltage level. The IGBT contains a gate, an emitter and a collector, and can be rapidly switched between the open and closed states. When the LED is turned on, the IGBT will be turned on. When the LED is turned off, the IGBT will be turned off.

The Schottky diode is a voltage-dependent, rectifying component. It is connected in reverse parallel across the IGBT, so that when the IGBT is on, the diode conducts the current and prevents reverse current flow. The Schottky diode also ensures that any spikes from the input signal are filtered out, making sure that the output signal is clean and precise.
