This is done in order to dissipate a portion of it at its other end; the amount of energy dissipated is determined by the resistance of the resistor itself. The H4340RBCA resistor is made up of a conductive material, such as copper or aluminum, which is then sandwiched between two conductive layers. Any current received is then distributed along the entire length of the resistor.
