Fixed inductors are electronic components which are designed with a fixed value of inductance which is physically and inductively wound rather than an adjustable air gap. Fixed inductors are typically made from a conductive wire which is wound around either a ferrite or powdered iron core. Various parameters such as the number of turns, diameter of the conductor and core material all affect the performance of the inductor.

One of the most widely used fixed inductors is the HC8LP-100-R. This inductor is designed to provide excellent performance in applications which require high-frequency operation. This particular device is a non-polarized and low DCR Chip Ferrite inductor which features low loss characteristics and is able to be used in a broad range of voltages and frequencies. It is designed for use in power supplies, power management, DC-DC conversion, and other electronic circuits.

The HC8LP-100-R is a surface-mount fixed inductor which is constructed using Ceramic Core technology. This technology is designed to provide higher power handling than traditional ferrite inductors.
