The HDSP–N406 display module is a type of LED character and numeric display. It belongs to the family of Display Modules – LED Character and Numeric, and is well–equipped with features and capabilities to suit the requirements of different applications.

The HDSP-N406 consists of four 7–segment character displays, four 12–segment character displays, and four status LEDs to indicate power–on and busy function for each character and numeric display. A unique display data bus and controller make this module an ideal choice for applications involving efficient, fast–reacting displays.

The HDSP-N406 is designed to work in ambient temperatures between -20°C and +105°C, and humidity levels between 5% RH and 95% RH. It is laser–welded with an epoxy jacket, making it a robust and highly durable LED character and numeric display module.

The display package size is 27.3 x 18.8 mm, with a mounting thickness of 2.54 mm. Its display character size is 0.71 × 0.71 inch, and total viewing angle is 50 degrees. The HDSP-N406 operates on 5 volts of power, and consumes 16 mA of current in a typical operating state.

The HDSP-N406 uses high–efficiency LED components, so the luminous intensity of the display is low. This module is also equipped with advanced luminance compensation and temperature correction capabilities, which enable it to maintain a consistent luminous intensity across the display, regardless of challenges arising from changing temperatures and humidity levels.

The module is compatible with HDSP–F00x and HDSP-N00x (such as HDSP–F001 to HDSP–F008 and HDSP–N001 to HDSP–N010) microcontrollers. Its display data bus enables it to accept commands from a wide range of Intel and compatible 8–bit microcontrollers.

The flexible display data bus can also be used to program multiple display modules to simultaneously or sequentially display multiple sets of information. This is especially useful when creating signage or displays in large retail and commercial buildings, which require multiple display modules in order to present the necessary data.

For applications that require more reliable, accurate information, the HDSP–N406 can also be equipped with an RS–232 port to enable communication with serial devices. This port is also a convenient way for users to transfer and store data in an automated fashion.
