Working Principle

HEDM-5500#J12 utilizing encoding wheel as the calculation unit, magnetic coil, processing circuit and output device. It is composed of an encoding disk, an encoding wheel, a detection circuit, and an external transmission line.

The strongly magnetized encoding wheels rotate with the measured shaft and make relative motion with the encoding disk. Encoding wheels and encoding discs have a certain number of slots. The position of the encoding disc at each moment is determined by the relative position of the slots of the encoding disc and the encoding wheel.

The magnetic coil placed above or below the encoding disk is connected to the detection circuit, and an AC current is generated in the coil for each slot, and the amplitude and polarity of the current will change when the slot is interlaced. The detection circuit detects the directional change of the output current of the magnetic coil and generates an output signal corresponding to the measured angular displacement.

The output signal of the HEDM-5500#J12 is digital. Digital encoders can output components as single-track pulse signals, binary signals, or Gray codes. They are characterized by voltage or current output, high-speed output frequency, and range of several tens of millimeters to several kilometers.
