Application Field

The HG2-AC24V is a power relay used for high current applications requiring a minimum of 2 amps. It’s designed for control applications where a very high switching current rating is needed. Common application fields includes motor control, air conditioning control and lighting regulation.

Working Principle

The working principle of the HG2-AC24V is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. An electromagnetic field is generated by the energisation of a coil and by creating a fundamental force. This force is used to switch a contact from one position to another or to activate a locking device.

The HG2-AC24V relay comes with a mechanical lever design, allowing for easy current, voltage and wire connection changes. The connection between the energising coil and the contact arm is made via a spring-loaded arm. This ensures a reliable connection as the arm returns to the non-energised position once power is provided.

The HG2-AC24V relay is typically used with 24V AC single phase, but it can also be used with other voltages. The maximum current that can be switched depends on the contact rating of the relay, which ranges from 2A to 15A. The switching of the current is achieved by energising the coil winding, which pulls the contact arm towards itself, thus closing the contacts.
