The HI1-674AKD-5 is a analog to digital converter (ADC) used mainly in data acquisition. It is designed to convert analog signals into digital information that is then easy for a computer to interpret and display. This versatile ADC is capable of converting data from analog sources of many types including thermocouples, force transducers, and charge amplifiers among others.
The HI1-674AKD-5 has a wide input wide ranging from 0 to 5V and has a differential input to better accommodate a range of signals. To ensure accuracy of the data acquisition, the input S/D capacitance is minimized to a nominal value, fulfilling sampling requirements up to 200 ksps which are 500x faster than other converters of its kind.
The core of the HI1-674AKD-5 is built on a differential successive approximation register architecture, which has inherent low noise immunity for improved signal-to-noise performance. It has an effective resolution of 12 bits and fast throughput rate of 40MHz in both asynchronous and synchronization modes. Performance is further improved by the internal filtering, reducing the complexity of external electronic components.
The HI1-674AKD-5 is designed for host systems with a single-byte bus interface and is powered by a single +5V supply. It requires no external components for communication with the host system, aiding in the reduction of part count and cost. The chip features adjustable gain, packetizing and software control, configurable power supply sequences, and on-chip self-clocking operation.
