The HIN239CBZ is a low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) cable driver, receiver and transceiver. This bridge converter is designed to transform LVDS signals into current-mode logic (CML) across six different channels. As a result, the HIN239CBZ is commonly used in networking and consumer electronic applications, such as parallel data, audio, and video transfer. With an integrated hot swap feature, the HIN239CBZ can operate in high frequency systems, enabling rapid data transmission while preserving signal integrity.

The HIN239CBZ is a multi-channel device, with each channel consisting of a transmitter, receiver, and a thermal protection circuit. The transmitter includes LVDS driver circuitry and a complementary voltage output driver, which can provide up to 8mA peak current to draw current-mode logic signals from downstream devices. The receiver includes LVDS receiver circuitry, a high-level reference generator, and a differential amplifier. This combination enables the device to detect and decode LVDS signals with a wide range of input levels.

The HIN239CBZ also includes a low-dropout regulator and current mode logic (CML) output circuitry, which isolates the LVDS inputs from noise, ensuring reliable operation in noisy environments. The thermal protection circuit is designed to protect the device from excessive power dissipation, preventing it from overheating. This feature helps extend the life of the device and prevents crashes due to thermal overload.

The HIN239CBZ is ideal for high-speed applications, such as Gigabit Ethernet and Serial ATA/SATA. It can provide data rates of up to 3.125 Gbps and is designed to maintain signal integrity at speeds up to 500 MHz. The device is also designed to minimize power consumption, consuming less than 2.4W at 120MHz. This feature makes the HIN239CBZ perfect for battery powered or low-power applications.
