The HLMP6800A solid state lighting unit is a larger class of discrete LED modules, typically used for cluster lighting in large building projects and other such applications. They provide bright, efficient light, making them perfect for illuminating large, high-traffic areas. The HLMP6800A uses a variety of LEDs to produce intense light, including white, blue and infrared varieties. The LEDs used establish a reliable and highly efficient light source as they use a fraction of energy of traditional lighting sources.The key features of the HLMP6800A LED module include: a LED junction temperature of -50°C to +135°C, power dissipation up to 1.2 Watt, narrow angle concentrated beam and visible emission between 450nm and 850nm. This wide range of features allows it to withstand a longer working life in a wide range of temperatures and environments, making it suitable for applications such as automotive, aerospace and defence applications.The useful life of the HLMP6800A module is 30,000 hours, with a long maintenance interval. This length of service life, combined with its robust design, means that there is a lower lifetime cost associated with it when compared to traditional lighting sources. This means that the HLMP6800A is not only reliable, but cost effective too.The HLMP6800A’s working principle is based on the operation of semiconductor junction (or diode) in which electrons move from the n-type material to the p-type material, while simultaneously creating multiple charges. These electrical currents are then used to excite the individual LEDs, transforming them into lit diodes to generate light.When it is in an illuminated state, the LD in the HLMP6800A module produces light, which is converted in a wavelength specific to the diode. The HLMP6800A module can be connected to a power supply, such as a 12VDC or 24VDC, to transform the energy into light with the desired wavelength and intensity. To do this, the power needs to be connected to the pins of the module, following the image produced in the manufacturer’s datasheet.The HLMP6800A module is an extremely useful module for applications such as entrance displays, backlighting, low-level warnings or alarms, and onboard/dashboard warning lights. It is also suitable for a wide range of interior and exterior architecture lighting applications. The HLMP6800A module provides a reliable light source, with excellent illumination by providing intense and concentrated light from a wide range of LEDs. This makes it perfect for bright, long-lasting cluster lighting in high-traffic areas.
