An HMC137 RF modulator uses a single diode to modulate the amplitude of an RF signal. It is a linear-in-frequency and linear-in-amplitude modulation device that features a low voltage, low power, and small-footprint. The HMC137 is composed of a series of components connected in a specific way that allow the RF modulator to modulate the amplitude of an RF signal. At the heart of the circuit is a single diode. The HMC137 RF modulator also features various other features such as a noise figure of -25 dB, a harmonic distortion of less than -60dBc, wide input dynamic range (up to +27 dBm/-20 dBm), and wide output dynamic range (up to +17 dBm/-17 dBm). These features make the HMC137 an ideal choice for consumer audio and video systems that require frequency hopping.
