Working Principle

The HPA02256RHLR integrates a low-frequency synchronous boost DC/DC converter and a power MOSFET. The HPA02256RHLR is designed to use a fixed frequency, current mode, PWM control scheme in which the switching duty cycle is directly proportional to the output voltage. The PWM duty cycle is higher than the host CPU duty cycle and therefore, the HPA02256RHLR has superior transient response compared to the fixed frequency PWM control scheme.

The HPA02256RHLR controls the output voltage based on the sampled output voltage reference. The output voltage can be adjusted via external resistor divider network, or a DC voltage level. In order to achieve superior output voltage accuracy, the voltage feedback can be adjusted by adjusting the external resistor divider networks. The HPA02256RHLR has built-in voltage feed-forward and overload protection and thermal shutdown functions which improve the device performance and reliability.
