HSLCS-CALCL-024 works as a responsible heat dissipation system by using thermoelectric technology. This technology utilizes a reversible solid-state cooling cycle, which involves a hot side and a cold side. In the HSLCS-CALCL-024, this technology utilizes a pair of semiconductor elements, P and N-type, perched between two plates. One plate is called the hot plate, and the other plate is called the cold plate. When electricity is applied, a heat flow is generated through the use of the elements and plates.The electrical current generates a flow of heat from the hot plate to the cold plate, eliminating the hot thermoelectric plate temperature. The amount of heat transfer is proportional to the amount of electrical current in the form of wattage. This is also known as the Seebeck effect. The heat dissipation is monitored by thermocouples and the power is regulated by a thermostat. This ensures that the LED junction temperature is kept from exceeding the maximum temperature rating for the LED device.In the operation of the HSLCS-CALCL-024, the thermoelectric element(s) is mounted on the hot side of the heat dissipating element. This allows for different heat transfer rates based on the various power ratings and temperatures. The cold side is then contacted to the LED device’s heat sink via heat transfer tape or other materials to ensure proper heat dissipation.
