HSMF-C164 application field and working principle

The HSMF-C164 is a 6.2*2.5mm non-diffused miniature surface mounted device (SMD) LED lamp. It features excellent light output with advanced color mixing capabilities. Available in full color models, this device is designed for applications including indoor lighting, signage, projection lighting and outdoor lighting. The HSMF-C164 is a high efficiency lamp and has a long life expectancy.

The lamp has a wide viewing angle, which is due to the high aspect ratio and light output of the package. When a voltage is applied across the layers, electrons flow through the device and recombine in the electron-electron barrier layer. As they recombine, photons are emitted.

When these photons reach the P-type layer, they recombine with electrons, which form electron-hole pairs. These pairs form an electric current which can be used to power the LED. The color of the light produced by the device is determined by the wavelength of the light emitted. The HSMF-C164 can be used to produce different colors depending on the application.
